Per una serie fortunata di coincidenze, ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare alla Martellina.

Che si trattasse di un belllissimo posto ne ero sicura, ancor prima di partire da Roma e di vederlo con i miei occhi… Ma che fosse al di sopra di ogni mia aspettativa, questo non credevo fosse possibile…

Come descrivere La Martellina?

Intanto diciamo che difficile darne una descrizione oggettiva. E’ un posto che suscita sensazioni ed emozioni e questo rientra nella sfera soggettiva di ognuno di noi.
E’ un luogo pieno di fascino e di grazia, armonico, in perfetta simbiosi con la natura che lo circonda.

Come si fa a descrivere l’emozione di dormire in una torre del 1200, ascoltando il rumore dell’acqua sottostante e vedendo dalla finestra un meraviglioso cielo pieno di stelle?

E come descrivere i gabbiani completamente sdraiati in un punto dell’Arno in cui il fiume fa “un piccolo salto” che si godono un bagno strepitoso, come se stessero facendo un “idromassaggio”?

Si tratta di un posto veramente “unico”, arredato con cura e con attenzione dei particolari e gestito da Claudio in modo gentile ed ospitale, o meglio gestito “con amore”.

E forse anche questo contribuisce a renderlo un posto veramente unico.

Lois and I have many fond memories of Croatia and Italy. Among our fondest memories are La Martellina and your wonderful hospitality. You seemed like an old friend from the moment we met you at the train station. Our nights in Girone helped make the days in Firenze much more bearable, and La Martellina was the perfect end to our trip.

We send this small gift to provide you with a little piece of United States heritage. We purchased it at our local center for Native Americans. It is handmade by a Cherokee Indian. The material is sweet grass and pine needles. Remember your friends in faraway Kansas when you look at it.
